I’m looking forward to going to Taste Addison this weekend not only for the amazing food I’m sure we’ll get to experience there but the family fun zone and carnival rides will be so exciting for the kids.  I was also excited to hear that while we are there we can stop by Transitions lenses, Essilor and First Eye Care booth and get free vision screenings for our whole family!  And, while we’re at it, we can also take pictures in front of their scenic backdrop and of course, enter to win prizes and giveaways.

Sight Seeing with Transitions

While I may not need glasses, pretty much everyone in my immediate family as well as Nick’s immediate family (including him) wears glasses.  It will be great to have the kids eyes checked and even get ours looked at while we’re there.  I know I really appreciate being able to see clearly and can’t imagine not doing so.  Of course, my most favorite thing to look at is, you guessed it, my kids and my family.  I love watching them and sharing experiences through their eyes.  There are a ton of places you can go in Dallas to see beautiful things and it makes it even better when you can share them with the people you love.  Some of our favorite places to visit around town are:

  • Dallas Arboretum – Year round flowers, trees and plants.  Great walking paths.  And my favorite part, they often feature series of themed sculptures throughout the different seasons to delight young and old!
  • The Dallas World Aquarium – Take a trip to different parts of the world all in one place while discovering aquatic life.  The Dallas World Aquarium is not only filled with marine life but fresh water species as well as land animals too!
  • Dallas Zoo - The Dallas Zoo has grown and expanded so much over the last few years – it’s truly a fun place to visit and see animals from all over the world!  In fact, they just added the only Koalas in the whole state of Texas.
  • Community Parks and Playgrounds - I know this isn’t an official place to visit but there is such a plethora of nice community playgrounds in the Dallas area.  Many of which include splash pads to play in to keep cool in the Texas heat.  Free and fun and somewhere we go all the time!
I hope you’ll stop by Taste Addison this weekend for food, fun and free eye exams!  Here’s more info about the event:

  2. That sounds like a lot of fun! Being blinder than a bat, I understand the importance of having regular eye exams. My poor children will probably need glasses as well.
