Diaper cakes have been one of the trends in gift giving for expecting moms for a while now and I’m sure you can see why – tons of adorableness and usefulness packed into one! However, not all diaper cakes are created equal. When Diaper Cakewalk approached me about reviewing one of their cakes the first thing I did was check out their website. I was quickly impressed by what I found. I honestly had expected just a bunch of cutesy cakes, which probably weren’t my style – not the case at all. They really thought of it all at Diaper Cakewalk, things I didn’t even know I was looking for in a diaper cake. They really do have something for everyone.
As I was looking around on DiaperCakewalk.com one of the first things that caught my eye was that they offered the choice of EcoFriendly Diaper Cakes. I was so excited to find diaper cakes filled with Seventh Generation diapers, Burt’s Bees baby care products and an organic cotton vegetable dyed toy. I would LOVE to get a cake like that.
The second thing that I found really cool was the Sampler Diaper Cakes. Diaper Cakewalk took first time moms into consideration and combined the top three major diaper brands, Pampers Swaddlers, Huggies and Luvs, into one cake. Genius. Even for experienced moms, I know that sometimes boys and girls and just babies in general sometimes fit into diapers differently or react differently to what they are made of. How smart that it gives moms a way to try three brands without having to go out and buy a whole pack of each.
So after looking around on the site for a while and being totally impressed with their selection of course I said I’d love to review one of their cakes. Diaper Cakewalk surprised me with their gender neutral Baby Monkey Diaper Cake. It arrived quickly and it was well packed in the box. When I took it out I was so pleased at how well put together it was. It made it all the way to me and nothing was out of place. Even more impressive, both of my kids picked it up and moved it multiple times, some nicely and others not so nicely… and still, nothing moved! If I was giving this as a gift or using it as a centerpiece this would have been so key. They are talented over there at Diaper Cakewalk because they manage to make these adorable cakes that are super well made and all without using any glue, tape or pins. I’ve seen a few cakes before that weren’t anywhere as sturdy and were full of a million straight pins that you had to pick out of each diaper – still cute but not fun to disassemble. New moms don’t need any more hassle and Diaper Cakewalk makes it easy for them.

Choices galore – eco-friendly, mini cakes, diaper castles, sampler cakes, three to five layers… Oh and if you really want to decorate a cake yourself but don’t want to go to the work of putting the actual cake together they offer plain cakes that come with decorating hints and tips. I know I’ve said it a million times already but really, I was super impressed – with everything.
