One of my favorite parts of the new school year, and the weather getting closer to fall, is picking out new clothes for the kids. Kohl’s is one of my first shopping destinations for back-to-school clothes for two main reasons – you can get a ton of cute stuff for your money and you can find something for the whole family in one place. I started plotting out my shopping game plan the other day and then headed off to Kohl’s with the whole family in tow.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
The first place we headed was the shoe department because Hanna and Oliver both needed new shoes. We totally scored! I was hoping to find a bargain on a pair of flip flops for Oliver since he had outgrown his old ones and it’s still really hot here. Not only did I find a bargain, but the flip flops we found were a great style and color. Hanna found a cute pair of purple Converse that she just had to have. We skimmed the backpacks, but decided to use our budget for clothes instead.
Hanna ended up finding
compromising with her mother on some really cute tops and some comfy yoga pants. (She kept picking out 80′s flashback clothes and what looked like tiny prom dresses that I just couldn’t agree to. Perfect for school, you know.) Overall, we’re both really happy with her choices and I think she looks adorable. I love that Kohl’s has great mix and match pieces that work well for school. The outfits don’t break the bank and life will go on if something happens to them. Hanna ended up with 2 long sleeve shirts, 1 short sleeve shirt, 1 pair of yoga pants, and 1 pair of gym shoes.
While Hanna and I were busy looking at girls clothes, Nick and the little guys were looking at boy clothes. They picked out a pack of Disney Cars’ underwear (potty training incentive) that was on sale. Then we found a couple of Jumping Beans graphic t-shirts for Oliver too. It’s hart to tell in the picture, but they both have googly eyes on them that move – so cute! Oliver scored 2 short sleeve t-shirts, 1 pair of flip flops, and 1 package of underwear from Kohl’s.
As for the rest of us, Little (big) Liam didn’t end up with anything because he’s just huge for his age and finding things that work well on him is hard right now, but that’s okay. Nick ended up finding a new pillow for himself. And, who am I kidding, shopping for myself with 3 kids and a husband in tow, just wasn’t going to happen. But, if I wanted to, Kohl’s has a ton of cute clothes and accessories that I would love. Pretty much everything we bought was on sale and then I stacked a 15% off coupon on top of it all, AND earned Kohl’s Cash to use on our next purchase too. Our total was right around $100 for 5 shirts, 1 pair of pants, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 pack of underwear, and a pillow – what a great deal! Now, I’ll have to sneak back on my own and use that Kohl’s Cash on myself!
