Liam is 2 months old… at least for 2 more days anyway!  He turned 2 months on Christmas day and I just haven’t gotten the pictures up yet.  He’s growing and changing so much!

2 month old baby with a mohawk

I love his naturally occurring mohawk.

He’s healthy, happy and still growing.  He weighed in at 18.6 pounds and was 26″ long at his 2 month well-baby appointment!  The doctor declared him the biggest baby he’s ever seen.  I had to go buy him size 9 month clothes a few days before Christmas. (Thanks Grammy!)

Liam - 2 months old

And… more proof that he does indeed smile.

He slept for 6 hours over night at 6 1/2 weeks old.  He’ll fall asleep really late and then sleep away most of the morning.  Liam and Oliver seem to be asleep and awake at opposite times equaling not much sleep for me at all.

He’s such a sweet, easy-going baby.  As long as he’s in his mama’s arms, he’s content.

It always amazes me how quickly the first month (honestly, the first year) just flies by with a new baby.  It’s all such a sleep-deprived blur of adjusting to life with someone new and amazement at how they change from day to day.  I had this feeling when I was pregnant with Liam that he would be born and life would just kind of go on, not necessarily in a bad way, but that he would just flow seamlessly into our life.  And that’s pretty much how it’s been.  Granted, I miss my bed.  A lot.  But for the most part he’s really easy going and after two kids I think we kind of have it down (for the most part anyway.)

One thing that has surprised me is just how much Oliver loves his little brother.  I mean LOVES his “baby Ham.”  (“Liam” in Oliver speak.)  He is constantly giving him hugs and kisses and trying to touch him and talk to him.  It’s going to be fun to see them together as they grow up.  ♥

At one month: Liam weighs 14+ pounds and is 23″ long.  (This is what he weighed at his 3 week follow up so I’m guessing he’s gained a little more.  At least my arms are guessing that.)  He smiled at me at around 2 weeks old.  Nick says it’s gas.  I say it’s real.

Did you guess that I’m pregnant?  Yeah, I probably made that too easy, huh.  I’m 20 1/2 weeks and baby number 3 is due October 13!  (No, it’s not a Friday, it’s a Saturday.)  I’m pretty much past the nausea stage now but I’d rank this one somewhere between where I was with Hanna (only a little bit in the evenings) and Oliver (alllllll day long, never ending.)  As for the tiredness, this baby has completely wiped me out.  The fact that I have two other kids, one being a crazy get-into-everything toddler probably doesn’t help though.  I thought for sure by this point I’d get an energy boost but I still pretty much depend on taking a nap when Oliver does every day.  So, so tired!  In fact, I’ve had a few cute and crafty ideas for making this announcement but the tiredness has won me over.  So you’ll have to settle for some blurry ultrasound pics and one adorable video.

Baby Foot Ultrasound - 20 Weeks

I’m guessing that probably only parents that have had a baby or two already can even tell what’s in the pics.  That’s okay, just tell me they’re cute anyway.  (You DO at least see the one foot in the second picture, right?  Hint – look in the middle of the black and you’ll see a little “footprint.”  The first one is the baby’s profile.)  And for your viewing enjoyment, a little clip of the baby swallowing!  You can see the little heart beating in there too.  ♥

Oh, and just to save you some time, I know what you’re going to ask… And the answer is, it’s a… HUMAN! *wink*
