While it seems like most pregnant women tend to find out their baby’s gender now, I think those who choose to wait until the birth or keep it a surprise are still around half. For us, with our first we really wanted it to keep the baby’s gender a surprise and especially before our baby shower. I wanted to get essentials that weren’t meant specifically for a boy or a girl and that we could use for more than one child. But when it comes to clothing the greens and yellows get old really quickly, especially once the baby is born. I know once I had my little girl in my arms it was way more fun to dress her in pink than yellow. Kate, the creator of Twotara, shared in this sentiment. It’s not really much fun to buy boring neutral baby shower gifts. You want to get the new mom something useful that’s also cute and something they’ll love.
Twotara is an innovative line of playful newborn clothing that’s made to give new moms the option of pink or blue even when they don’t know their baby’s gender. Each piece of clothing is reversible – pink on one side, blue on the other. Both sides are the same exact quality and neither one looks like the inside of the garment.
Twotara sent me their Footie Pajamas and matching Hat to experience. Each piece is made from super soft 100% cotton that’s put together in a way that’s just like two identical outfits sewn together. Neither side looks like the inside of the of the outfit at all. With the exception of a tiny tag (that you can cut off) on the inside of the hat, each side of both pieces was exactly the same, only a different color. With the two layers of fabric each garment is on the thicker side. I think the footie is going to be great for my October baby since the layers will keep the baby extra cozy. Being that I live in Texas where it’s hot the majority of the time, I would love to see Twotara create some lighter-weight warm weather pieces too.
I can’t wait to put the footie pajamas and matching hat on our new little one and there not be any guesses as to whether it’s a girl or a boy. I love the fact that this will be a fun clothing set to pass on to another new mom too – no matter what they are having. I know Twotara is going onto my list of great baby shower gifts to give from now on!
